About us:

    SEA is a registered charitable society registered under the Tamil nadu societies Act of 1976. It has also registered under the foreign contribution Regulation Act of 1975 (FCRA) with Government of India. SEA is also exempted from Income Tax under section 80- G of Income Tax Act.

    SEA is located at Mamallapuram in Kancheepuram district. SEA works now at 36 Villages in and around of the East coast Road among fishermen and dalit saltpan workers and their children.

    SEA was founded by community development workers and village youth. Mr.S.Desingu is the founder and Executive Director of the organization, he is from the 10th generation of the fishermen community it the need of mobilizing community for sustainable development

    SEA was founded during the year 2000 and initiated intervention there after among the fishermen and dalit saltpan workers.

General Objectives:

    The general objective of SEA is to promote the Rights of Children among children of within the age up to 15 years through child – friendly schools, community and their environment.

Specific Objectives:

    To extend within the formal and non-formal curricula teaching / learning methodologies that touches upon Rights of Children (ROC) within basic life skills, democratic values, and learning competencies, with assessment and evaluation techniques.

    To Equip teachers, school assistants, Panchayath presidents counselors, and in addition to youth leaders and Community Based Organisations (CBOs) such as SHGs with interactive techniques that promote Rights of Children and their practice.

    To improve the status of fisher women, who has major part to contribute to their children’s development.

    To organize fisher women in to cooperatives and organizations such as Self Help Groups (SHG’s) to ensure that they are free from abuse and exploitation
