Activities:

Enrollment:

  • Enrollment Campaign: SEA Organizes enrollment Campaigns according to our village plan
  • We identify the five+ age group children and school drop outs upto 14 years.
  • We visit their houses and help these children to enroll in the government schools.
  • We also organize rallies, cultural programmes during this period (June- August).

Motivation & Recreation Centers:

  • SEA Organizes Motivation and Recreation centers, which provide supplementary education for school going children.
  • SEA also helps children to improve their potential talents by involving them in drawing, painting, drama, songs and handicrafts.
  • SEA also involves Drop out children, working children to attend these centers to learn literacy and numeracy.

PTA’s & VEC’s :

  • In order to improve the quality of education we involve parents and the community in children’s education.
  • We have appointed additional teachers to supplement Teacher Students Ratio
  • SEA strengthening PTA and VEC( Village Education Committee) by organizing regular meetings and trainings for them

Training to Teachers:

  • In order to improve the quality of education, SEA organizes periodical training to PTA teachers as well as to government Teachers.
  • We hired experts in the field of education to provide consultancy to promote schools.
  • SEA also produces Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) for effective Teaching and distributes to all teachers.

Children’s Clubs:

  • The children’s Clubs provides space for interesting educational sessions as well as sports and social.
  • The clubs also organize various programme in the village.
  • The clubs run library, exhibitions, sports events etc
  • The members do discuss and debate various issues such as; the education, environment government, children’s rights and responsibilities, democracy and decision – making processes.

Self Help Groups:

  • SEA understands vital role of women in to the community development for which we organize promote and strengthen Self Help Groups
  • SEA assisted SHG members to organize and understand the real concepts of SHG’s.
  • SEA organized various training programmes to the members of SHGs and assisted

Cooperatives:

  • Like men has Cooperative Societies SEA also promote Cooperatives for women.
  • These cooperatives are bringing value of women economical freedom .
  • Through the cooperatives SEA dreams to bring a platform to review and evaluate the status in the fishermen community.
  • These cooperatives are also provides opportunity to share knowledge and resources among the members and provides space for equality

Federation:

  • SEA dreams to bring all women groups such as SHG’s and fisherwomen cooperatives in to one roof and voice for them.
  • The federation would also evaluate and monitor the process of development and fight for their space and contribution.
  • The federation would also lobby with development stakeholders for the improvement of women and children in the community.
